Privacy Policy

01Overview

Script Foundation is a small, volunteer-run archive. We collect as little personal information as the site's functions require, and we don't sell or trade what we do collect.

02Information we collect

  • Basic usage data (pages visited, browser type, approximate region) collected automatically by our hosting provider's server logs.
  • Anything you submit voluntarily — through the Submit form, a correction report, or an email — such as your name, email address, and message content.
  • Donation records are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store card details ourselves.

03How we use it

Submitted information is used only to evaluate archive proposals, investigate correction reports, and reply if you've asked us to. Usage data helps us understand which entries need attention and keep the site running.

04Cookies & local storage

We use a minimal, functional cookie to remember your light/dark theme preference. We do not use tracking cookies or cross-site advertising identifiers of our own.

05Advertising

Advertisements on this site are served by third-party ad networks, which may set their own cookies or use similar technologies subject to their own privacy policies. We don't control what those networks collect and encourage you to review their policies directly.

06Data retention

Submission and correction records are kept only as long as needed for review, generally no more than 18 months, unless they document a change to a published entry, in which case a minimal record is kept for provenance.

07Your rights & choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information you've submitted at any time by emailing us. Because this is a small volunteer project, we handle these requests manually and may take a little longer than a larger organization would.

08Children's privacy

Script Foundation is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we'll remove it.

09Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
